With automation, you can have an application handle the maintenance of all elements within your workspace through a public API and an associated token.

To use a DfE public API, you will need a bearer token and that token can be added within the Automation page.

Adding a workspace automation token

You can add a workspace automation token by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name of the workspace you want to add an automation token. This will show you to the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation token side menu options. This will show the Workspace automation tokens page.
  4. Select the Add link. This will show the Add workspace automation token page and form.
  5. Enter the bearer token string in the Value text box.
  6. Select the Add automation token button to save and add the automation token to the workspace. Or the Return to workspace automation link to cancel.

You can at anytime disable an automation token.

Viewing a workspace automation token

You can view a workspace automation token by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to view the automation token. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show you the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the View link under the Actions column for the automation token listing you want to view. This will show you the workspace automation token detail page.

Viewing a workspace automation token value

You can view a workspace automation token value by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to view the automation token value. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show you the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the View link under the Actions column for the automation token listing you want to view. This will show you the workspace automation token detail page.
  5. Select the View value link within the Value detail entry. This will show you the workspace automation token value string.

Disabling a workspace automation token

You can disable a workspace automation token by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to disable the automation token value. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show you the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the View link under the Actions column for the automation token listing you want to view. This will show you the workspace automation token detail page.
  5. Select the Disable token link within the Enabled field entry. This will show you a disable confirmation page.
  6. Select the Disable button to disable the workspace token. Or the Return to workspace automation token page link to cancel.

When a workspace automation token is disabled, all details associated with the workspace token are preserved. However, any existing automations using that token will stop functioning immediately.

Enabling a workspace automation token

You can disable a workspace automation token by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to disable the automation token value. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the View link under the Actions column for the automation token listing you want to view. This will show you the workspace automation token detail page.
  5. Select the Enable token link within the Enabled field entry. This will show you the automation token enable page.
  6. Select the Enable button to disable the workspace token. Or the Return to workspace automation token page link to cancel.

When a workspace automation token is enabled, since all details associated with the workspace token are preserved, any automations using that token will start functioning again immediately.

Deleting a workspace automation token

You can delete a workspace automation token by following these steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to delete an automation token. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show you the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the Delete link under the Actions column and on the row of the automation token listing you want to delete. This will show you the Workspace automation token deletion page.
  5. Select the Delete button to delete the workspace automation token. Or the Return to workspace automation link to cancel.

Alternatively: You can also delete an automation token by following this steps:

  1. Select the My workspaces link from the top navigation menu or the task link options within the body of the Home page. This will show you the My workspaces page with listings of your workspaces.
  2. Select the name the of the workspace you want to delete an automation token. This will show you the workspace details page with menu options.
  3. Select the Automation side menu options. This will show you the Workspace automation page.
  4. Select the View link under the Actions column for the automation token listing. This will show you the workspace automation token detail page.
  5. Select the Delete token link at the top of the detail section. This will show you the automation token deletion page.
  6. Select the Delete button to delete the workspace token. Or the Return to workspace automation link to cancel.

Once a workspace automation token is deleted, any existing automations using that workspace automation token will be denied access immediately. And all details including the token Value will be lost. This action cannot be reversed, so make sure you want to delete the workspace automation token.
