There are 2 types of APIs listed within the DfE's Find and Use an API catalogue.
1. Linked APIs
These are APIs listed within the DfE's Find and Use an API catalogue but links to another service or location where those APIs are hosted. They are added to the DfE's API catalogue for audit and reporting purposes and to advise DfE Find and Use an API Consumption Portal users of their existence. However, users cannot directly subscribe to these APIs.
2. Hosted APIs
These are APIs directly hosted on the DfE's Find and Use an API service. Users can directly subscribe and unsubscribe to these APIs.
